Job Summary
Project Engineer for substations responsible for conceptual, preliminary, and final detailed design of new, upgraded and expanded substations, including material procurement, construction and commissioning/startup support through energization. Develop and deliver physical, electrical, civil and communication design studies, calculations, drawings, exhibits and specifications. Assist Project Manager with planning and execution of projects, including client and stakeholder coordination, training and mentoring of design staff, project quality assurance, and oversight of design engineers, designers, drafters and support staff. Coordinate tasks with subject-matter groups such as Distribution/Transmission Studies, Grounding, Protection relay coordination and settings, Civil, Communication (SCADA integration), Environmental Planning, Surveying, Lands/Right-of-Way, and Project Management/Controls. Occasional travel required. Must have Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and 6+ years of experience; PE license preferred; ability to meet fast-paced project schedules; excellent communication skills; willingness to collaborate in a team environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
- 6+ years' project and design engineering experience, or an acceptable combination of education and experience
- excellent verbal and written communication skills

- commitment to quality and accuracy
- willingness to meet fast-paced project schedules
- PE license is preferred
