Job Summary
Design and deliver substations including conceptual, preliminary, and final detailed design; manage material procurement, construction support, and commissioning/startup through energization. Coordinate physical, electrical, civil, and communication design studies, calculations, drawings, exhibits, and specifications; support Project Manager with planning, client and stakeholder coordination, training and mentoring of design staff, and quality assurance. Collaborate with discipline groups (Distribution/Transmission Studies, Grounding, Protection, Civil, SCADA/Communications, Environmental Planning, Surveying, ROW, Project Management) to ensure integrated design and compliant execution. Occasional travel to support projects and client requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 6+ years' project and design engineering experience
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- strong organization and planning skills
- ability to work in a team environment
- commitment to quality and accuracy
- willingness to meet fast-paced project schedules
- PE license is preferred
