Job Summary
Project Engineer for substations responsible for the conceptual, preliminary and final detailed design of new, upgraded and expanded substations, including material procurement, construction support and energization. Engineering tasks include development and delivery of physical, electrical, civil and communication design studies, calculations, drawings, exhibits and specifications. Collaborates with the Project Manager and coordinates with client and stakeholder groups; mentors design staff; ensures project quality assurance and oversees design personnel. Works with SME groups across Distribution Studies, Transmission Studies, Grounding Studies, Protection relay coordination, Civil, SCADA/Communication, Environmental Planning, Lands/ROW, and Project Management/Controls; may travel occasionally; PE license is preferred; sponsorship not required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 6+ years' project and design engineering experience
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- strong organization and planning skills
- ability to work in a team environment
- commitment to quality and accuracy
- willingness to meet fast-paced project schedules
- PE license preferred
