Job Summary
Substation Project Engineer responsible for the conceptual through commissioning design of substations, including material procurement, construction and energization/startup support, and the development and delivery of physical, electrical, civil and communication design studies, calculations, drawings, exhibits and specifications. Works with Project Manager to coordinate client and stakeholder activities, trains and mentors design staff, ensures project quality assurance, and oversees design engineers, designers, drafters and support staff. Collaborates with discipline groups (Distribution Studies, Transmission Studies, Grounding Studies, Protection/relay coordination, Civil, SCADA/Communication, Environmental Planning, Surveying, ROW, and PM/Controls). Minimum requirements include a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, 6+ years of project and design experience, strong communication and planning skills, and the ability to work in a team environment; PE license is preferred. Occasional travel is required; sponsorship is not requested for future employment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 6+ years of project and design engineering experience
- PE license preferred
