Substation Project Engineer

Job Summary
Project Engineer responsible for the conceptual, preliminary, and final detailed design of new, upgraded and expanded substations, including material procurement and commissioning/startup support through energization. Develop and deliver physical, electrical, civil and communication design studies, calculations, drawings, exhibits and specifications; support Project Manager with client/stakeholder coordination, training and mentoring of design staff, and quality assurance. Coordinate with SME groups (Protection, SCADA/Communication, Civil, Environmental Planning, Surveying, ROW, Project Management) to ensure integrated designs; travel occasionally to meet project needs. Requires Bachelor’s (or Master’s) in Electrical Engineering with 6+ years of project/design experience; strong verbal/written communication, organization, and teamwork; PE license is preferred. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 6+ years' project and design engineering experience
- PE license preferred
- ability to work in a team environment
- strong communication and organizational skills
- willingness to meet fast-paced project schedules
- experience in utility or merchant power industry a plus
