Job Summary
Substation Project Engineer responsible for the conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design of new, upgraded, and expanded substations in Nebraska. Duties include material procurement, construction and commissioning/startup support through energization, and delivering physical, electrical, civil, and communication design studies, drawings, exhibits, and specifications. Act as a Project Engineer assisting the Project Manager with client and stakeholder coordination, mentoring of design staff, and project quality assurance. Coordinate work with discipline groups (Protection, Civil, SCADA, Transmission & Distribution, Environmental Planning, Surveying, ROW, and Project Controls) to ensure on-time, high-quality deliverables and alignment with fast-paced project schedules. Requires strong communication, teamwork, and a willingness to travel occasionally; PE license preferred. Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 6+ years of project and design engineering experience
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- strong organization and planning skills
- ability to work in a team environment
- commitment to quality and accuracy
- willingness to meet fast-paced project schedules
- PE license preferred (not required)
