Job Summary
Create master sketches to scale showing proposed installations relative to existing facilities and exact specifications. Apply computer-aided drafting skills in AutoCAD 3D or MicroStation while learning proprietary design databases. Assist experienced designers on walkdowns at client facilities to gather design information. Interface with vendors and contractors to explain drawings and facilitate design adjustments. Work in a multi-disciplined team preparing design drawings based on design input. This hybrid role requires in-office presence three days per week.
Required Qualifications
- An Associates Degree in Drafting or equivalent technical experience
- Advanced knowledge and 3+ years of experience in the use of computer drafting tools
- Ability to visualize Equipment Details, Phase to Ground and Phase to Phase Clearances
- Ability to multi-task from project to project
- Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of a computer
- This position is based on a hybrid work schedule and will require in-office work 3 days per week
Desired Qualifications
- MicroStation preferred
- AutoCAD is acceptable
- Familiarity with Bentley Substation Design
- An Associates Degree in Computer Aided Design
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
- Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including the ability to relate various equipment to a technical design
