Job Summary
Create design drawings based on design input by producing master sketches to scale showing proposed installations relative to existing facilities and exact specifications. Apply computer-aided drafting skills using AutoCAD 3D or MicroStation while learning proprietary design databases. Assist experienced designers on walkdowns at client facilities to gather information and explain drawings to vendors and contractors for design adjustments. Work in a multi-disciplinary team environment, utilizing and expanding drafting skills within a hybrid schedule of three office days and two remote days.
Required Qualifications
- An Associates Degree in Drafting or equivalent technical experience
- Advanced knowledge of computer drafting tools (i.e. AutoCAD and/or MicroStation)
- Ability to visualize Equipment Details, Phase to Ground and Phase to Phase Clearances
- Ability to multi-task from project to project
- Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of a computer
- Dependent upon your location, this opportunity offers a generous relocation package
Desired Qualifications
- An Associates Degree in Computer Aided Design
- Familiarity with Bentley Substation Design
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
- Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including the ability to relate various equipment to a technical design
