Job Summary
Develop physical layouts, equipment arrangements, and construction drawing packages for high-voltage and medium-voltage substation projects while coordinating with protection, civil, structural, and electrical disciplines. Conduct engineering studies and calculations for grounding, lightning, and lighting systems, then perform quality control reviews on design deliverables. Lead client meetings and manage proposals for smaller projects, assuming technical leadership roles with limited guidance. Support junior engineers through technical guidance and training recommendations while communicating effectively with internal teams and clients to meet project objectives.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of relevant engineering experience in substation design
- This is not a remote position
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Professional Engineering (P.E.) license, or ability to obtain within 12 months
- Proficiency with industry-standard design software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation and inventor
- Experience with grounding studies, lightning protection studies, and lighting studies
