Job Summary

Develop new or modify existing single line diagrams, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layout drawings for electric power substations ranging from 12kV to 500kV. Complete battery loading and voltage drop studies, develop bills of materials, and review vendor equipment drawings. Work with other disciplines to complete assigned work and assist the team with developing processes for increased efficiency. Apply relevant client, national, and state standards while performing basic engineering calculations to support design. Requires proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical and 2+ years of direct substation Protection & Controls experience.

Required Qualifications

  • High School degree
  • 2+ years of direct substation Protection & Controls / Electrical design experience
  • Experience using CAD software on electric utility industry projects
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD
  • Proficiency with Windows-based software such as Word and Excel

Desired Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in a related field
  • Expertise with AutoCAD Electrical w/Substation Design Suite (SDS)
  • Proficiency with MicroStation
  • Experience working on EPC or other design-build Contract types
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and work product quality
