Job Summary
Conduct engineering design and analysis for substation projects in the industrial space, performing detailed physical engineering for electric power substations including multi-disciplinary coordination and calculations. Implement the NEI Quality Assurance Plan by checking the work of designers, drafters, and engineers for accuracy, while reviewing submittals for conformance with client specifications and codes. Provide technical leadership, manage project scope and budget, and prepare documents such as go-bys, training materials, and cost estimates. Train junior engineers on physical design of electrical substations and BESS facilities, offer coaching and mentoring, and occasionally perform field inspection and construction supervision. Manage deliverables to meet internal and external deadlines, ensuring client requirements are met.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Civil or Electrical Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology from an accredited institution
- 5+ years of relevant engineering or field experience
- Proficiency with AutoCAD
- Proficiency with MathCAD
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills
