Job Summary
Develop one-line, three-line, and control schematics for high-voltage and renewable energy interconnection projects while applying NEC and NESC codes. Produce protection specifications, I/O mapping, and construction documentation including sequence and RFPs. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to meet project milestones and manage technical reviews for clients. Serve as a technical specialist for system protection and communication, providing consultation to project teams and identifying key client drivers. Remove impediments to engineering goals and advise management on maximizing team ROI.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from a recognized accredited program
- Minimum of 4 years related work experience in the field of high voltage substation design – P&C
- EIT Certification
- Proficient in use of AutoCAD or Bentley Microstation
- Strong familiarity with the NEC and National Electrical Safety Code
- Good knowledge of the industry and technology trends specific to substations
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to develop relay settings and associated points mapping
- Professional engineering license or ability to obtain one within 2 years of hire
- Experience in protection device coordination
- Knowledge of construction practices and constructability
- Experience with proposal writing and project estimating
- Working knowledge of scheduling and project controls processes
