Job Summary
Design high-voltage and EHV substation projects by developing one-line, three-line, and control schematics, wiring diagrams, and protection specifications. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to meet milestones, manage procurement, and lead technical reviews for clients. Serve as a technical specialist for system protection and communications, providing guidance to project teams and removing impediments to goals. Advise management on maximizing ROI and identify key client drivers to shape project approaches.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from a recognized accredited program
- Minimum of 4 years related work experience in the field of high voltage substation design – P&C
- EIT Certification
- Proficient in use of AutoCAD or Bentley Microstation
- Strong familiarity with the NEC and National Electrical Safety Code
- Good knowledge of the industry and technology trends specific to substations
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to develop relay settings and associated points mapping
- Professional engineering license or ability to obtain one within 2 years of hire
- Experience in protection device coordination
- Knowledge of construction practices and constructability
- Experience with proposal writing and project estimating
- Working knowledge of scheduling and project controls processes
