Substation Engineer II - P&C - Power Delivery

Job Summary

Develop one-line, three-line, and schematic diagrams for high-voltage and EHV substation projects while applying NEC and NESC codes. Produce protection specifications, I/O mapping, and construction documentation, then coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to meet project milestones. Serve as a technical specialist for system protection and communications, attending client reviews and removing impediments to team goals. Advise management on maximizing ROI and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment supporting renewable energy interconnections.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from a recognized accredited program
  • Minimum of 4 years related work experience in the field of high voltage substation design – P&C
  • EIT Certification
  • Proficient in use of AutoCAD or Bentley Microstation
  • Strong familiarity with the NEC and National Electrical Safety Code
  • Good knowledge of the industry and technology trends specific to substations

Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to develop relay settings and associated points mapping
  • Professional engineering license or ability to obtain one within 2 years of hire
  • Experience in protection device coordination
  • Knowledge of construction practices and constructability
  • Experience with proposal writing and project estimating
  • Working knowledge of scheduling and project controls processes
