Substation Electromechanical Engineer

Job Summary

Develop one-line diagrams, general arrangement drawings, and structure calculations aligned with system study requirements. Conduct insulation, A/C interference, and grounding studies while working with switchgear, breakers, transformers, and motor-operated disconnects. Support breaker maintenance, mechanism troubleshooting, and equipment upgrades, including specifying electromechanical relays or analyzing modern digital relay interfaces. Collaborate on major equipment bid specifications, detailed estimates, and probability modeling, applying substation civil engineering knowledge to distribution design projects. Requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, six years of power system experience, and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Must report to the office Tuesday through Thursday.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Six (6) years or more of Power System Engineering Experience Required
  • Knowledge of distribution design required
  • Must be able to report to the office (Tuesday-Thursday)

Desired Qualifications

  • Completion of Engineer-in-Training (EIT) is preferred
  • Professional Engineer license is preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong communication and data processing skills
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail-oriented
