Job Summary
Design substation electrical deliverables including one-line diagrams, wiring drawings, cable schedules, and equipment plans. Perform self-checking activities to ensure quality before senior review and prepare complex computer-aided construction drawings with minimal errors. Coordinate project activities with senior engineers and project managers while utilizing company systems to track design progress. Assist in job site meetings and answer Requests for Information during construction. Ensure all designs conform to client and industry standards.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in engineering technology or equivalent substation experience
- 5-8 years of experience working in substation design or similar with utility or consulting engineering firm
- Proficient using Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Excel, Word, and Outlook)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
- Basic written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to sit/stand for up to 8 hours per day
- Ability to move freely for up to 8 hours per day
