Job Summary
Substation Design Engineer responsible for designing high-voltage substation layouts, grounding, conduit, and material take-offs; developing construction drawing packages; reviewing submittals; serving as Lead Engineer or Engineer of Record; supporting proposals, bids, and schedules; providing field technical support and mentoring junior engineers; travel to client sites and field locations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar from an ABET-accredited program
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- 5+ years of experience in substation engineering within utilities or energy sectors
- Experience with ETAP, WinIGS, and IEEE standards (80/998)
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Inventor, Bentley MicroStation, and/or Bentley Substation (3D experience a plus)
- Strong communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills
