Job Summary
Substation Design Engineer role focusing on designs for 25kV–500kV substations, including protection and control, SCADA, telecom, and related disciplines; responsibilities include creating scope documents, site and bus layouts, equipment installation, grounding, metering, studies, cost/time estimates, data accuracy, construction support, and collaboration with suppliers, internal clients, and external contractors; requires Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, P.E. registration eligibility with APEGA, 4+ years of substation design experience, knowledge of industry standards (CSA, IEC, IEEE, ANSI), and travel readiness.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Qualifies for registration as a Professional Engineer with APEGA
- 4+ years of direct experience in substation design
- Knowledge of P&C, SCADA, Telecom, Teleprotection, substation design
- Proficiency with Microstation, AutoCAD, Bluebeam (asset)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Valid Driver’s License
- Travel readiness
