Job Summary

Edit research papers, articles, and translated manuscripts for non-native speakers across physical sciences, engineering, and material science. Ensure immaculate grammar, punctuation, and flow while preserving author intent and adhering to academic citation styles like APA, IEEE, and CMS. Format manuscripts according to journal guidelines when requested. This role requires at least five years of academic editing experience, proficiency in English, and subject matter expertise. Enago offers a guaranteed monthly income, performance bonuses, and flexible working hours for selected freelance editors.

Required Qualifications

  • Proficiency and competence in the most widely spoken language across the world—English!
  • Knack for diligently editing, restructuring, and polishing articles written by non-native speakers
  • least 5 years of relevant copyediting/academic editing experience
  • Extensive subject matter expertise
  • Knowledge of the style (such as APA, CMS, AMA, CSE, IEEE) and conventions followed in academic writing

Desired Qualifications

  • Research experience (studies conducted, papers written/published, papers reviewed, etc.)
  • Certificate/experience in academic editing, publishing, scientific communication, and journal article writing
  • Extensive experience in editing ESL (English as a Second Language) manuscripts
  • Member of acclaimed editing and publishing associations such as EFA, EASE, BELS
