Substance Use Specialist

Job Summary
Conduct clinical assessments to monitor persons served goals and functioning on an ongoing basis while managing a caseload of approximately 16 to 20 individuals per week. Carry out community interventions and communicate interactions during daily team meetings and in the electronic health record. Monitor substance use trends, coordinate with external providers and natural supports, and engage in crisis response and harm reduction practices. Participate in a rotation of on-call shifts. Work within an interdisciplinary team providing intensive, wrap-around services for individuals with serious and persistent mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders.
Required Qualifications
- Holds a bachelor's degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields from an accredited college or university
- at least 4,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to persons with serious and persistent mental illness
- holds a graduate degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields
- 2,000 hours of experience in the delivery of mental health services to adults
- Travel as needed
- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
- Exerting up to 30 pounds of force frequently
- Exerting up to 10 pounds of force constantly
Desired Qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner
