Job Summary
Provide individual and group counseling to clients with substance use issues, maintain an active caseload of 15, assess client needs, and develop goal-oriented plans. Facilitate group counseling, educational programs, and crises intervention; conduct individual counseling to support therapeutic goals. Visit clients in their residences to assess living independence and daily living activities. Document progress, maintain records, coordinate transportation to appointments including medical assisted treatment, and develop treatment plans with primary case managers. Cultivate relationships with external providers (treatment facilities, recovery homes, outpatient programs, medical-assisted treatment facilities) and provide referrals to NA, AA, and other peer-led programs. Stay informed on developments in the substance use field and deliver a workshop at least twice yearly. Additional duties as assigned. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or counseling; clinical licensure preferred; CADC preferred; 1–2 years of social service or relevant mental health/substance abuse experience; bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred; must be able to transport clients and have a car with valid license and insurance. Must be service-oriented, empathetic, and capable of building rapport with a diverse population. Convenience in computer literacy and smartphone-enabled communication is expected.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master degree in psychology; social work or counseling required.
- Clinical licensure preferred.
- CADC preferred.
- One to two year prior social service experience; relevant Mental Health and/or Substance Abuse experience required or internship/practicum.
