Job Summary
Substance Use Specialist provides intensive in-home and community-based services to individuals with severe mental illness within the ACT team, leading integrated dual diagnosis treatment (IDDT), conducting weekly IDDT groups, facilitating MAT options with psychiatrists, delivering motivational interviewing and CBT-based relapse prevention, and coordinating crisis response and discharge planning; requires MSW/related field and CASAC, with bilingual Spanish/English preferred. Position involves outreach, advocacy, and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams, with duties spanning assessment, treatment planning, service coordination, and documentation in compliance with OMH/DOHMH regulations and Medicaid standards.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field
- Certified by the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) as a Certified Substance Abuse and Alcoholism Counselor (CASAC)
- Eligibility for full and unconditional participation in the Medicaid and Medicare programs
