Substance Use Disorder (SUD) RN - C & A

Assess, plan, and implement nursing care for adolescents receiving residential treatment for substance use disorders and co-occurring behavioral health conditions. Perform comprehensive physical, emotional, and psychiatric assessments upon admission and throughout treatment, recognizing withdrawal symptoms, suicide risk, aggression, and medication response. Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and social workers to develop individualized treatment plans, administer medications safely, and provide patient and family education on recovery and relapse prevention. Utilize therapeutic communication and verbal de-escalation techniques to maintain a safe, trauma-informed therapeutic milieu while documenting care accurately in the electronic medical record.
