Job Summary
Coordinate assigned patient care by providing initial assessments, individual and group counseling, and case management services while maintaining professional boundaries. Deliver treatment activities including serving as a leader or co-leader of therapy groups and observing urine collections for drug screens when needed. Complete progress notations, treatment plans, and administrative forms such as TARGET reports and taper notices in accordance with agency policies and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations. Participate in Treatment Team meetings to review patient progress and address appeals, and consult with supervisors for clinical skill development. Work under direct supervision to attain Department of Health SUDP licensure while supporting the organization's mission to transform systems of harm and inequity.
Required Qualifications
- SUDP-Trainee as defined - WAC 246-811
- Academic training in the social service field and in the area of substance use disorder treatment
- Work experience in the social service field and in the area of substance use disorder treatment
- Experience of substance abuse treatment planning and counseling
- An understanding of racial justice and social equity and a commitment to helping create an equitable environment for all ETS clients and patients as well as fellow staff
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, patients, and staff from a wide variety of ethnic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds
- The ability to work well under stressful situations and conditions and be creative in developing and implementing effective approaches to chemical dependency treatment
- A history of personal substance abuse must have been abstinent for a minimum of three years prior to employment
- Strong interpersonal skills and verbal/written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload, work independently, and complete tasks timely and efficiently
- Dependable, able to work under pressure, receptive to change, willingness to learn, cooperative approach to problem solving
- Flexible team player, with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion when handling highly sensitive information
- Ability to set boundaries, resolve conflict and de-escalate issues
- Computer literate, with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, as well as a high level of initiative in keeping current with technological change
- Some local travel may be required on behalf of the agency
