Job Summary
Conduct direct clinical services for FACT clients, including screening, assessments, and developing individualized treatment plans. Deliver individual and group counseling, crisis stabilization, and motivational interviewing while attending weekly court hearings and responding to immediate crises. Manage comprehensive case management by coordinating with community resources, overseeing urine alcohol testing, and facilitating referrals to ensure client compliance with legal requirements. Maintain ongoing clinical documentation, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with medical necessity standards. Serve as the primary point of contact for the caseload, ensuring continuity of care from intake through recovery planning.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- Current WA State Substance Use Disorder Professional certification
- Washington State Counselor Agency Affiliated Registered (ACCR) credential
- Drivers License/Abstract
- Minimum one (1) year of recent work experience as a Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP)
- Ability to pass the background check
- Must be able and willing to drive a car both in cities and on highways
- Possess a good driving record
- Provide proof of auto insurance
- Must be able to speak and hear at normal conversational levels
- Must pass the background check in order to see program clients in the Pierce County Jail
- In depth understanding of the SUD population
- Knowledge of the major components of a mental status examination
- Competency in performing on-going assessments
- Ability to implement a continuum of care for consumers based on consumer need and level of functioning
- Basic knowledge of psychotropic medications with the ability to recognize side-effects
- Well-developed skills in managing time, priorities, and paperwork
- Keen understanding of the importance of clear, professional boundaries, and maintenance of such
- Possession of proven teamwork skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Demonstration of good common sense
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and to collaborate effectively with external partners
- Cultural competence
- Ability to operationalize those treatment options within the managed care environment of the Pierce County MCO/ASO
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge and understanding of mental disorders and basic familiarity with the DSM-V
- Knowledge of community resources and the ability to develop appropriate links for consumers
- Ability to work while the ACCR application is pending for up to one hundred twenty (120) days, unless a higher credential is already held
