Job Summary
Provide evaluation, counseling, and therapeutic services to chemically dependent patients and families, assessing social, psychological, and chemical abuse histories. Develop individual treatment plans, coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team, and act as a liaison and advocate for patients. Maintain open communication with referral sources and families regarding progress, discharge, and aftercare plans. Facilitate programming for court-ordered referrals and assist patients in adjusting to illness and realistic post-treatment planning. Document care per guidelines, maintain knowledge of behavioral managed care for precertification, and participate in rotating weekend inpatient evaluations.
Required Qualifications
- One of the following: Certified Reciprocal Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor (CRADC) within 2 years - Illinois Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Professional Certification Association (IAODAPCA)
- One of the following: Certified Advanced Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor (CAADC) within 2 years - Illinois Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Professional Certification Association (IAODAPCA)
- One of the following: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) within 2 years - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- One of the following: Certified Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor (CADC) within 2 years - Illinois Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Professional Certification Association (IAODAPCA)
- One of the following: Certified Supervisor Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor (CSADC) within 2 years - Illinois Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Professional Certification Association (IAODAPCA)
- One of the following: Licensed Social Worker (LSW) within 2 years - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- One of the following: LCSW / LCPC within 2 years - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Master's Degree: Psychology; Counseling; Social Work; Related Field
- H.S. Diploma/GED
- Master's required within two (2) years if incumbent has or plans to pursue a LSW, LCSW, LPC, LCPC or Psychologist license
- H.S. Diploma/ GED if incumbent is not licensed and plans to pursue CADC or IC&RC Counselor certification through IAODAPCA
- Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English

- Demonstrated skill, organization and efficiency in performing required patient activities
