Job Summary
Conduct in-home patient-centered counseling sessions for families identified with mild to moderate substance use disorders. Develop individualized treatment and discharge plans while performing comprehensive substance use assessments, including supervised urine specimen collection in the field or at district offices. Produce narrative reports and provide diagnostic impressions per DSM-IV-TR to support the Child Welfare Unit and court processes. Offer expert consultation to the Child Welfare Department, attend court testimony as requested, and match clients with appropriate care levels such as In-Home services or external treatment. Follow up on treatment referrals to verify compliance and provide logistical information to caseworkers. Maintain a broad network of local service providers and sobriety supports across Westchester County.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- OASAS CASAC-T or CASAC Certification
- NYS Driver's License
- At least one (1) year experience working with clients with substance use disorders and/or mental illness for candidates with CASAC certification
- At least One-Two (1-2) years' experience for candidates with CASAC-T certification
- Ability to develop, evaluate, implement, and modify a clinical treatment intervention to meet the needs of individual participants
- Skilled in screening, interviewing, and motivational counseling techniques
- Working knowledge of the child welfare system
