Job Summary
Substance Use Counselor at Heritage Behavioral Health Center provides assessment and counseling services for adults with substance use and/or co-occurring mental health disorders. Responsibilities include conducting assessments using ASAM Criteria and IM-CANS, developing individualized treatment plans, delivering ASAM Level 1 and Level 2 services (outpatient and intensive outpatient), conducting individual and group counseling, utilizing Motivational Interviewing, incorporating harm reduction and MAR, facilitating groups, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, maintaining documentation, and participating in ongoing professional development. Qualifications require relevant degrees and CADC/LPC/LSW certification within 24 months, valid driver’s license, and age 21+. Schedule is Full-Time with every other Friday off.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human service field + ability to obtain CADC within two years of employment
- Graduate degree in counseling, clinical psychology, social work, or other human service fields + ability to obtain CADC, LPC, or LSW within two years of employment
- Certification as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC), LPC, or LSW required within 24 months of employment
- Minimum of 21 years of age
- A valid driver’s license, reliable means of transportation, and proof of automobile insurance
