Job Summary
Substance Use Counselor provides comprehensive assessments of clients’ substance use history and treatment needs, develops individualized treatment plans, delivers individual and group counseling, may facilitate didactic groups, documents treatment and discharge plans and progress, performs case management, and contributes to client care monitoring within Gateway Foundation’s corrections-based behavioral healthcare. Requires a High School Diploma/GED; MAADC certification preferred with ability to obtain higher MAADC certification within 6 months; must obtain Missouri Department of Corrections clearance. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Certification as a Missouri Alcohol Drug Counselor (MAADC) preferred. Ability to obtain higher MAADC certification within 6 months of hire required.
- Must be able to obtain Missouri Department of Corrections clearance.
