Substance Abuse Specialist

Job Summary
Lead the ACT team in clinical meetings regarding substance abuse issues and incorporate findings into service plans. Provide substance use assessments and diagnoses, promote harm reduction, and apply assertive outreach for stage-wise treatment. Identify appropriate ACT services based on client severity, stage of change, and immediate needs to recommend treatment objectives. Engage in risk assessments for substance use and associated harmful behaviors to determine required interventions. Make determinations regarding client placement in Inpatient Rehabilitation, Medically Managed Detoxification, or other OASAS licensed programs. Act as a liaison and advocate for clients requiring external substance use interventions. Requires at least 3 years of experience in human services with an SMI/SUD population.

- Licensed professional
- At least 3 years of experience working in human services with an SMI/SUD population
- Extensive knowledge of Assertive Community Treatment
- Extensive knowledge of community integrated treatment
- Extensive knowledge of support services
- Extensive knowledge of resources
