Job Summary
Conduct individual counseling sessions for a caseload of 20-25 beneficiaries on a bi-weekly basis and provide crisis counseling as needed. Deliver 2-4 counseling, education, and Bible/prayer groups weekly while operating compliance screening equipment for prohibited substances. Process intake by interviewing applicants, assessing needs, and completing necessary paperwork to maintain program capacity. Maintain organized beneficiary files and record statistical data in Bits-pro and hard files within 24 hours of sessions. Attend weekly staff meetings, retreats, and conferences to present case information and comply with the Professional Development Plan. Work cooperatively with ARC staff and outside agencies in a caring, respectful atmosphere aligned with the Salvation Army's Christian spiritual approach.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a working knowledge of issues such as spiritual formation, substance abuse, homelessness, displacement, etc.
- Flexibility in work schedule to include evenings and occasional weekend time
- Must be able to lift 10 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in rehabilitation counseling, pastoral counseling or a related field is preferred
- A minimum of one year of experience in the field of addiction rehabilitation is preferred
