Job Summary
Deliver substance abuse counseling to adult correctional clients using a secular, agency-prescribed curriculum while maintaining strict confidentiality and professional conduct. Develop individualized treatment plans, conduct orientation intake sessions, and facilitate group counseling based on approved materials. Complete and maintain accurate records of client progress, services provided, and treatment plans. Evaluate client participation by monitoring behavior, attitude, and overall progress. Uphold high ethical standards and collaborate effectively with staff, supervisors, and agents to support the mission of reducing recidivism and enhancing community safety. Requires Wisconsin state credentials and experience with cognitive-based programming in correctional settings.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Human Services, Criminal Justice, Social Work, or related field
- Substance Abuse Counselor (SAC-IT, SAC or CSAC) credentials through the state of WI
- 1 year of experience in counseling and facilitating cognitive based programming
- 1 year of experience working with correctional/AODA clients
- Demonstrated ability working with individuals from diverse backgrounds; culturally competent
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, email, and internet
- Ability to maintain the utmost confidentiality of all agency information
- Ability to interact with staff, clients, and agents in an effective manner while maintaining professional boundaries
