Substance Abuse Counselor (Part-Time)

Job Summary
Maintain an assigned caseload adhering to COMAR and CARF regulations while ensuring incoming clients receive a complete psychosocial history and assessment summary within five days of admission. Collaborate with the team to finalize a Preliminary Treatment Plan within three days, followed by a Comprehensive Treatment Plan within 30 days, and conduct quarterly updates. Deliver individual addiction counseling, coordinate Health Home services, and prepare discharge aftercare plans with follow-up contact for all patients. Support clients in developing recovery management skills through group and individual counseling, psychoeducation, and care planning using a person-centered, trauma-informed approach.
Required Qualifications
- Trainee status from Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists
- Certification as a licensed addiction counselor
- LCSW
- LCPC
- CAC
- Higher licensure than CAC
- Thorough understanding of the clinic's philosophy of treatment
- Knowledge of the clinic's admission process
- Knowledge of the clinic's criteria
- Basic knowledge of substance abuse
- Basic knowledge of dual diagnosis
