Job Summary
Substance Abuse Counselor responsible for meeting patients' clinical needs through individual, group, and family counseling; participate in intake/admission/discharge/transfer paperwork; develop and implement psychosocial and individualized treatment plans; perform at least 20 hours of direct patient contact weekly through counseling; educate patients on treatment and recovery; obtain initial patient identification and urine drug screens; collaborate with medical and treatment teams to support patient well-being. Position supports benefits starting DAY ONE, PTO, tuition/education reimbursement, and referral bonuses; requires Masters degree and licensure or DMH credential in mental health/addictions field; CADC/CADC-I/II or CAADC credentials recognized. Location: Gulfport, MS within a healthcare provider network focusing on Opioid Use Disorder treatment.
Required Qualifications
- Masters degree in mental health or intellectual/development disabilities, or a related field and who has either (1) a professional license or (2) a DMH credential as a Mental Health Therapist, Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities Therapist or Addictions Therapist (PCAT, CAT, PMHT, MHT).
