Substance Abuse Counselor

Job Summary
As a Substance Abuse Counselor you’ll provide individual, group, and family counseling to patients, working with a collaborative treatment team (Medical Director, Program Director, Treatment Services Coordinator, Counselors, and Nurses) to identify clinical needs and support overall well-being. You’ll perform intakes, admissions, discharges, and transfers; document patient progress; develop psychosocial and individualized treatment plans; address clinical/case management needs; conduct at least 20 hours of direct one-on-one patient contact weekly through individual and/or group counseling; educate patients on treatment and recovery steps; obtain Urine Drug Screens and first patient photo identification; and uphold the program’s and company’s proprietary data rights. Required Qualifications
- Masters degree in mental health or related field
- professional license or DMH credential as Mental Health Therapist, Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities Therapist or Addictions Therapist (CADC, CADC-I, CADC-II, CAADC, CIC)
