Substance Abuse Counselor

Job Summary

Conduct individual and group counseling sessions for patients recovering from opioid and illicit substance addictions. Facilitate didactic educational presentations, complete comprehensive behavioral health assessments, and develop individualized treatment plans. Coordinate care with community providers, manage referrals, and maintain thorough client records while evaluating treatment effectiveness. Include family and natural supports in client plans per preference and assist in screening primary care services. Maintain caseload compliance with regulatory standards and ratios. Work Monday through Friday from 4:30 AM to 12:30 PM in an outpatient setting.

Required Qualifications

  • 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Associate degree and two years of relevant experience in behavioral health setting
  • Bachelor's degree in behavioral health field
  • Master's degree in behavioral health field
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to behavioral health totaling 4 years
  • High school diploma or GED as well as a combination of behavioral health education and work experience totaling a minimum of four years
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Must be available for weekend shifts
  • Valid driver's license
