Job Summary
Conduct screenings, intakes, and assessments for patients receiving treatment for substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. Maintain a caseload while developing and implementing individualized treatment and discharge plans. Deliver evidence-based counseling interventions, including individual and group sessions, alongside patient education, psychoeducation, and relapse prevention strategies. Facilitate case management, referrals, and crisis intervention services, ensuring all documentation adheres to OASAS and federal guidelines. Collaborate with staff, patients, and community providers within a multidisciplinary team framework, participating in ongoing supervision and meetings. Stay current with best practices through continuing education.
Required Qualifications
- Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC)
- CASAC-Trainee (CASAC-T)
- bachelor's degree in a human services field
- active CASAC-T
- enrollment in a licensure-track graduate program (MSW, Mental Health Counseling, MFT, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of addiction, recovery, behavioral health, and counseling principles
- Familiarity with self-help group processes
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and electronic health records (EHR)
Desired Qualifications
- Bi-Lingual (Spanish, French, Bengali)
- Minimum one year of counseling or human services experience
