Job Summary
Coordinate and conduct Substance Abuse Prevention and Suicide Prevention training for Army National Guard units, ensuring compliance with AR 600-85, AR 350-53, and ALARACT 057-2014. Establish positive relationships with State Points of Contact and community-based providers while maintaining the State resource catalog. Manage Substance Abuse referred Soldier cases from initial referral to final disposition, including scheduling assessments, tracking progress, and documenting communications. Enter suicides, ideations, and attempts into the Critical Incident Management System within 48 hours and update records upon receiving additional information. Input all prevention training into the DAMIS and internal tracking systems, and provide required weekly and monthly reports to the Risk Reduction Coordinator. Work a variable schedule including weekends as State units conduct training.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a Social Science or related field
- 3 – 5 years of practical experience in the Substance Abuse Prevention, Suicide Prevention or Resiliency field
- Strong and professional instruction and briefing skills which demonstrate flexibility with various audiences
- Ability to work a variable schedule as duties require, including some of the weekends that State units are conducting training
