Job Summary
Conduct Substance Abuse and Suicide Prevention training for Army National Guard units, ensuring all programs meet AR 600-85, AR 350-53, and DA-PAM 600-24 requirements. Coordinate and ship Unit Risk Inventories, enter critical incidents into the CIMS within 48 hours, and manage Substance Abuse referred Soldier cases from initial referral to final disposition. Establish relationships with State Points of Contact and community-based providers, while maintaining the State resource catalog and inputting all prevention training into DAMIS and internal tracking systems. Report outcomes of Risk Mitigation Plans to Unit Commanders and provide weekly check-ins with Soldiers. Submit required weekly and monthly reports to the Risk Reduction Coordinator and serve as a member of the Commander's Readiness and Resiliency Council. Work a variable schedule including weekends for training, with in-state travel required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a Social Science or related field
- 3 – 5 years of practical experience in the Substance Abuse Prevention, Suicide Prevention or Resiliency field
- Strong and professional instruction and briefing skills which demonstrate flexibility with various audiences
- Ability to work a variable schedule as duties require, including some of the weekends that State units are conducting training
