Job Summary
Provide authoritative technical leadership across submarine structural disciplines for the Royal Navy submarine fleet, advising MoD and representing Babcock at technical forums. Lead development of technical guidance, training materials and capability plans to strengthen in-service engineering knowledge; resolve complex structural challenges; influence design and supportability for future submarine programs; requires SC security clearance and sole UK national status. Role combines 2 days in office/onsite and 3 days remote per week, with hybrid working arrangements at Devonport Royal Dockyard or HMNB Clyde sites.
Required Qualifications
- Security Clearance (SC)
- Sole UK national
- Demonstrable expertise within a submarine structural discipline
- Extensive experience in submarine build or in-service constructive engineering and maintenance
- Deep understanding of submarine structures, operation and maintenance within a defence environment
- Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical capability
- Strong organisational skills in high-assurance environments
- Ability to develop technical guidance, training materials and capability plans
- Ability to provide authoritative technical advice and independent assurance on complex submarine structural issues
