Job Summary
Lead the analysis of current and future state VHA business processes related to Elevated Risk Care Management, identifying inefficiencies and opportunities for process redesign. Design, develop, and implement improved workflows across VHA Medical Centers and VISNs, ensuring alignment with clinical standards and Veteran-centered care objectives. Diagnose operational problems by conducting stakeholder interviews, data reviews, and process mapping, then deliver actionable recommendations to government leadership. Monitor post-implementation performance using metrics, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms to track effectiveness. Serve as a trusted advisor to VHA program offices, providing guidance on large-scale healthcare system operations and preparing high-quality analytical deliverables for senior officials. Requires 10+ years in health systems analysis within the VHA, a Master's degree, and no sponsorship.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in health systems analysis, healthcare operations, or a related discipline, with a demonstrated focus on large-scale government or integrated healthcare environments
- Master's Degree in Health Administration, Public Health, Health Policy, Business Administration, or a closely related field
- Extensive, hands-on experience working within or directly supporting the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), including substantive familiarity with VHA Medical Center operations and Veterans Service Network (VISN) structures
- Ability to obtain and maintain VA network access and a Position of Public Trust background investigation as required for contractor personnel supporting VA program offices
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship; U.S. citizenship may be required to meet VA background investigation and access requirements
- Demonstrated working knowledge of both clinical and business process frameworks within the VHA, including experience supporting process analysis, redesign, or implementation initiatives at the program or enterprise level
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience supporting VA mental health, suicide prevention, or behavioral health programs, particularly within the Office of Suicide Prevention or related VHA program offices
- Familiarity with VHA's Elevated Risk Care Management policies, tools, and clinical workflows, including experience with the Patient Record Flag (PRF) system or the High Risk for Suicide (HRS) care pathway
- Experience applying structured process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Human-Centered Design) within a federal healthcare or VHA context
- Proficiency with VA data systems, electronic health record platforms (particularly VistA/CPRS or Oracle Health/Cerner), and business intelligence tools used within VHA operations
- Prior federal contracting experience in a Subject Matter Expert or senior advisor capacity, with demonstrated ability to deliver high-impact analytical products to GS-14/15 or SES-level government clients
