Job Summary
Lead the Business, Economics and Accounting subject area by setting and delivering measurable plans aligned with AQA's strategy, including defined targets for engagement, retention, and growth. Manage a small team of specialists to build capability, foster collaboration, and drive continuous improvement while monitoring performance against delivery targets. Design and execute customer engagement strategies using insight and data to strengthen relationships with schools and diverse stakeholders across the UK. Represent AQA externally at conferences and stakeholder events to build trust and influence product growth, ensuring the subject reflects the experiences of all learners. Utilize relevant systems and dashboards to plan, record, and adjust delivery at pace, proactively managing risks and dependencies to reduce failure demand.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrable and recent experience leading a Business /Economics department
- Strong understanding of both GCSE and A Level specifications and assessment practice
- Credibility among teachers
- Proven leadership experience, including coaching and building team capability
- Commercial awareness and a customer-centric mindset
- Examples of turning insight into action that delivers measurable outcomes
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to adapt style under pressure and in ambiguous situations
