Job Summary
Senior Subcontracts Administrator leads cradle-to-grave subcontract activities from solicitation to closeout, ensuring compliance with FAR/DFARS and contractual requirements. Responsibilities include negotiation, administration of subcontract agreements, interpretation of terms and conditions, review of invoices, reporting on status and metrics, coordinating with cross-functional teams (Program Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Quality, Legal), and mentoring junior staff. Requires extensive experience in government and commercial subcontracts, strong negotiation and leadership skills, and proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and procurement tools.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- 10+ years of relevant experience in procurement, subcontracts, or supply chain management
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment
- Basic understanding of procurement and government contracting principles (FAR/DFARS)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience administering complex subcontracts for government and commercial programs
- Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while exercising sound judgment and decision-making capabilities
- Proven ability to build collaborative relationships across all organizational levels
- Demonstrates accountability, initiative, and ownership of work products and deliverables
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and procurement tools preferred
- Demonstrates leadership behaviors through mentoring, teamwork, communication, and influence
Additional Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship required for ITAR/EAR compliance
- Must be able to travel within the Continental U.S. and internationally when required
- ITAR/EAR compliance required for export-controlled work
