Subcontracts Administrator- Entry Level

Job Summary

Administer subcontracts from pre-award to closeout by assisting negotiations, drafting, executing, and modifying agreements. Ensure accurate implementation of flow-down clauses and monitor subcontractor compliance with FAR/DFARS regulations and company policies. Track performance, deliverables, and schedules while initiating corrective actions as needed. Maintain detailed files for audit readiness and support audits, reporting, and closeout processes. Collaborate with legal, finance, procurement, and project management teams to align practices with organizational goals. Identify and mitigate risks related to subcontracting activities. This role supports small businesses within the government contracting industry through specialized operational services.

Required Qualifications

  • 0–5 years of experience supporting subcontract administration activities for government and / or commercial programs, including subcontract issuance, drafting modifications, assisting negotiations and compliance monitoring
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, law / legal studies, acquisition / contract management or a related field
  • Working knowledge of federal acquisition regulations (FAR / DFARS) and compliance requirements
  • Familiarity with cost-reimbursable, fixed-price and time-and-materials subcontracts
  • Strong negotiation, analytical and organizational skills
  • Experience working in cross-functional, fast-paced program environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and enterprise resource management systems
  • Must have enough mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner
  • May include lifting weigh up to thirty (30) pounds, as necessary
  • expected to be available during standard business hours
  • Occasionally, this position may require support outside of regular hours, including early mornings or evenings, to meet critical deadlines or business needs

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience supporting government contracts or defense programs
  • Professional certification such as Certified Federal Contract Manager (CFCM) or equivalent
  • Proficient using SAM.gov website, SharePoint and Deltek Costpoint
