Subcontract Project Manager

Job Summary

Manage day-to-day planning, coordination, and delivery of subcontractor activities across assigned programme workstreams, ensuring scope, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables are clearly understood and actively managed. Maintain integrated subcontractor delivery plans, action logs, RAID records, dependency registers, and reporting inputs to ensure accurate visibility of progress, blockers, risks, and upcoming decisions. Coordinate supplier inputs into transition, mobilisation, service readiness, acceptance, technical refresh, decommissioning, and programme governance activities while supporting the management of subcontractor deliverables, evidence packs, implementation products, and reporting submissions. Work with Commercial and Subcontracts colleagues to identify scope boundaries, change impacts, contractual dependencies, and commercial risks requiring escalation. Drive timely resolution of subcontractor risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies, escalating where required through programme governance and ensuring mitigation actions are owned, tracked, and closed. Facilitate effective working relationships between Leidos, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal delivery teams, promoting clear communication and disciplined follow-through on commitments. Support programme reporting, delivery reviews, and governance forums by providing concise updates on subcontractor progress, forecast activity, key decisions, risks, issues, and required interventions. DV clearance required.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing projects, suppliers or subcontractor delivery within complex IT, managed service, defence, government or highly regulated environments
  • Strong project controls capability, including planning, milestone management, RAID management, dependency tracking, action management and reporting
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary delivery teams across commercial, technical, service, transition, security and supplier functions
  • Ability to interpret delivery commitments, identify emerging risk, manage competing priorities and drive practical resolution of blockers
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to engage senior programme stakeholders, suppliers and delivery teams
  • High attention to detail, strong organisational discipline and the ability to produce clear, accurate and decision-ready reporting

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience of MOD, Defence Digital, secure service delivery or classified programme environments
  • Understanding of service transition, mobilisation, operational readiness, acceptance criteria, hypercare or early life support
  • Awareness of Agile, SAFe, ITIL-aligned service management, hybrid delivery models and controlled change environments
  • Experience supporting supplier governance, subcontractor performance reviews, commercial change impact assessments or delivery assurance forums
  • Relevant project management qualification such as PRINCE2, APM, MSP, AgilePM, Scrum or equivalent professional experience
