Job Summary
The Subaward Specialist is responsible for managing subawards' financial and operational aspects, ensuring compliance with donor regulations and Mercy Corps internal policies. Key responsibilities include development of subaward strategies, administering Request for Applications (RFA), reviewing budgets for compliance, conducting training workshops for subrecipients, and preparing financial monitoring visit reports. The role demands strong organizational abilities, experience with international grants management, and effective communication skills to liaise with consortium partners and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- BA/S or equivalent in accounting or finance, management, economics required
- At least 3 years of relevant field or management experience in grants management
- Understanding of USAID, SIDA, GAC, FCDO, and EU regulations
- Excellent oral and written English skills required
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced degree preferred
- Demonstrated experience with administering solicitations for subawards
- Proven ability to oversee a team responsible for monitoring subrecipients
- Strong organizational skills
- Advanced computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with an ethnically diverse team
