Job Summary
The Study Abroad Advisor is responsible for recruiting and advising study abroad students from assigned colleges for semester and summer programs (exchanges, direct enrollments, and affiliate partners). The role supports students from initial inquiry through returnee stages, assisting with documentation, tracking, and Terra Dotta data management. Responsibilities include advising on program opportunities, academic requirements, financial aid and scholarships (e.g., Gilman, Boren, CLS), maintaining relationships with academic departments and overseas partners, and developing marketing and recruitment plans (e.g., education abroad fairs, information sessions). The position also coordinates pre-departure and re-entry sessions, ensures program quality through professional development, and may perform other duties as assigned. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong interpersonal/oral/written communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail are essential. Occasional nights and/or weekends may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Experience with Terra Dotta software (preferred)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work occasional nights/weekends
- FERPA awareness
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
