Job Summary

As a Part-Time Studio Operations Technician at The Crucible, you'll be responsible for building, organizing, cleaning, and maintaining studios and facilities for summer programming. You will ensure safety compliance, respond to emergencies, and maintain tools and assets. Key skills required include previous work experience in mechanical and facility maintenance, knowledge of carpentry, safety protocols, and the ability to operate hand and power tools. Strong communication and organizational skills are crucial, along with proficiency in Google's suite of tools. The role requires a valid California driver’s license and willingness to obtain specific safety certifications after hire.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of one (1) year of previous work experience and knowledge of materials used for building, mechanical, and maintenance repair tasks.
  • Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
  • Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
  • Experience with the use and care of hand and power equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow instructions from supervisors.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency with the Google Suite.
  • Willing to complete Cal-OSHA 30, Forklift Certification, Adult/Child CPR & First Aid and Bloodborne Pathogen training within thirty (30) days of hire.
  • Proven track record of punctuality and attendance.
  • Valid California driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
  • Ability to complete California DOJ LiveScan for youth-serving organizations.

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior studio operations experience.
  • Previous experience in a nonprofit, education or industrial arts organization.
  • Electrical, woodshop and fabrication skills.
  • Current forklift certification.
  • Current Adult & Child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Completed Cal-OSHA 30 General Industry training.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work in small, cramped areas.
  • Ability to reach high work areas with ladders and/or scaffolding and work at heights greater than ten (10) feet.
  • Complete COVID-19 primary vaccination series and most recent vaccination booster available.
