Job Summary
Manage self-contained classrooms for students with disabilities, implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and progress monitoring systems. Collaborate with staff and parents to support student access to core content aligned with Next Gen Learning Standards and Specially Designed Instruction. Develop transition plans and work-based learning tracking for exiting outcomes while maintaining consistent classroom management focused on engagement. Monitor social and emotional well-being alongside academic progress and demonstrate commitment to ongoing professional learning. Participate in student activities and support varied disability classifications through individualized program modifications.
Required Qualifications
- NYS Teaching Certificate in appropriate area

- Ability to collaborate and support student access to core content academics include knowledge and support of the Next Gen Learning Standards and elements of Specially Designed Instruction across self-contained classrooms
- Experience and knowledge of varied disability classifications and their potential learning impacts, including individualized program modifications
- Evidence of Individualized Education Program (IEP) development based upon student deficits, as well as transition and goal development with progress monitoring systems
- Knowledge and support with work-based learning tracking, transition and exiting outcomes for each student
- Evidence of ongoing, proactive, effective communication across students, staff and parents
- Evidence of consistent classroom management with an emphasis on student engagement and support across various teachers, classrooms, expectations
- Acknowledge the balance and connection of students' social and emotional well-being and academic progress
- Commitment to ongoing professional learning, growth and development
- Willingness to participate in and support student activities
