Job Summary
Assist in setting up lighting, sound, and stage equipment for productions while performing regular maintenance and troubleshooting of technical gear. Work on screen/LED backdrop technology, collaborate with technical directors to ensure smooth production flow, and help with stage design, construction of sets and props, and organization of materials. Support live performances by managing technical aspects as needed. This role offers practical experience in live theater for Federal Work Study students, providing hands-on training in set construction, scenic painting, and prop fabrication within the Waco Civic Theatre environment.
Required Qualifications
- Federal Work Study (FWS) status
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn carpentry/using hand tools like drills, hammers, saws, etc.
- Experience painting sets and/or crafting props
- Basic knowledge of backstage work
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn hanging and adjusting lights
- Ability to work in a team on big projects
- Communication and Time Management of assigned tasks
- Physical Stamina
- Reliability and Independence
